Coyotes are found in many regions of the United States and North America, and their population has increased in some areas due to the lessened population in the lower states.

One primary reason why these predators are becoming more of a problem is due to the expansion of human territory. Humans continue to bring down habitats, and this act drives their natural prey animals to extinction, these wild predators (coyotes) are then forced to trespass upon the human territory in search of food. This explains why coyotes were able to migrate from the wild to human regions leaving behind their natural habitats.

A coyote is similar to the medium size of a dog, but their feet are smaller than feet of dogs. They prey upon weaker and smaller animals than themselves. Coyotes are not anything less than wild animals.

Don’t be deceived by their looks as they may appear friendly and harmless; they are wild animals, and because of this, they are not meant to be domesticated.

God created them naturally to find a mate, reproduce, forage for food, and roam around in their natural habitat without the interference of humans. For example, when your domesticated coyote sneaks out in the middle of the night to your neighbor’s compound and killing all their chicken, you know you just created a serious problem for yourself.

Now when you release them to go into the wild, there will be a problem because by then, they would have become an adult. The adult coyote knows nothing about the wild habitat, it can’t survive, and surely, the coyote will return to urban areas or even to your neighborhood, thereby causing more damages.

Also, in some countries, keeping a coyote as a pet is illegal because of the threats it possesses. However, if you decide to keep one may be because it is legal in your country, you will have a problem with feeding; pets food cannot provide them with the needed nutrition they will get in the wild.

Coyotes feed on rodents, rabbits, frogs, rats for them to stay healthy. So this will be challenging and costly for you as time goes on. So we are not encouraging you to adopt or domesticate a baby coyote for whatsoever reason.
